Then you will call upon me and pray to me and I will listen to you. When you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. I was baptized as an adult into the Lutheran Church. I found many ways to serve in the church over the years, but I found that most of them were life-draining rather than life-giving. I say serve in the church, because my church wanted me to fill out a time and talent survey and figure out what ministries I would join. Over time, I heard the message that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and I began to try to understand what that might be.

Jul 15, Kat rated it really liked it I think this was a great book. I read it and studied it weekly as a class at my church. I also used the workbook and I enjoyed it.
I think that finding your purpose is something you have to figure out for yourself but this book will definitely help. It helps you discover your life gifts, spiritual gifts, values, personality type, and passions then how you can put those together to fulfill your purpose at your job, volunteering, at church, etc.
Altogether good book recommended for new christians, I think this was a great book. Altogether good book recommended for new christians, old christians, and anyone really questioning why they are here. It is not a typical "finding your purpose" book. It does not just preach to you. It gives you the keys through inventories and open ended questions to figure things out for yourself. The authors write in conversational style and draw you in to a comfortable process of analyzing the experiences that have shaped you, the activities that energize you, and the environments that help you to shine.
Whether in a job that you like, or looking for new work, this book is a bonus to any employee or student. Its a little late for me to discover who I am, why I am here, and what I do best. If I havent figured it out by now; I have bigger problems than what this book can help me with. You never know, I might learn something.
